FAQs

What insurance providers do you accept?

I do not accept insurance at this time. Please reach out if you would like some referrals to providers I trust who do accept insurance.

How much does a session cost?

Our first consultation is over the phone, consists of 30 minutes, and is free. During this time, you can ask as many questions as you would like about therapy, my style, and what you hope to achieve in order to help ease any concerns you may have. This will also allow you and I to see if we are a good fit and if my approach will be able to work with your needs.

My sessions range from $130-$180 (50 mins), depending on the services needed.

What are your specialties?

I have some primary specialties acquired during my years of study and my work in inpatient facilities. These are:

  • Trauma

  • Eating Disorders

  • Substance Abuse or Addiction

  • Borderline Personality Disorder

  • Mood Disorders

  • Latino Cultural Struggles

That said, my clients have a diverse range of concerns, and I help them with things such as:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Developing Coping Skills

  • Relationship Problems

  • Setting Boundaries

  • Emotional Overwhelm

  • Work Stress

Whatever you are struggling with, I am here to help you better manage it and develop the skills to live a more enjoyable life.

What is your therapeutic approach?

My approach in our work together is holistic, dynamic, and client-centered. My eclectic approach utilizes Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) , Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Person Centered Therapy to help understand your unique experience and why you may feel “stuck”.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes! Virtual sessions are often easier to fit into a busy schedule.

Do you offer weekend or evening sessions?

Yes! Feel free to contact me if you have a special circumstance or specific time in mind, and I will do my best to accommodate you.

I live outside of California. Can you be my therapist?

No, unfortunately I cannot. I am only licensed to provide therapy in the state of California. Check out my Resources page for help finding a therapist in your state.

What are your credentials?

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #121920) and an Alcohol and Drug Studies Specialist licensed by the California Consortium of Addiction Programs and Professionals (CADC-II-CA).

I received my Masters degree in marriage and family therapy with a specialization in trauma from Pacific Oaks College. I have over 9 years of experience, in both inpatient/residential settings and as an outpatient services provider.

What if I miss an appointment?

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, I ask that you let me know at least 24 hours in advance. If you miss a session without canceling, or cancel with less than 24 hour notice, you will be subject to pay the full session fee.

Will our sessions be confidential?

Yes; the law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission.

Exceptions include:

  • Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, for which I am required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.

  • If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, I must notify the police and inform the intended victim.

  • If a client intends to harm himself or herself, I will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, I will take further measures without their permission that are provided to me by law in order to ensure their safety.
